Chosen words
“Winter is coming,” I heard the other day;
Someone saw three snowflakes, and said, “it is on it’s way!”
I guess it’s time for fall to leave, so winter can come in.
Along with snow, and ice, and cold, much beauty awaits within.
The quiet hush of falling snow, as it spreads itself around,
Presents us with a wonderland of snowfall on the ground.
A spectacular show of ice will quickly overtake the trees;
A shimmering creation will appear for you and me.
I know it’s rather dangerous to walk upon the ice,
So, stay inside, enjoy the view that is always, oh so nice.
We will complain and grumble as it overtakes our life,
As we chop the ice, and shovel snow, we will be full of strife.
There’s nothing we can do about it,
So enjoy the lovely show, until it’s time for it to go.
We will soon forget about winter; we’ll leave it all behind;
Only warmth and sunshine will remain inside our mind.
It won’t be long ‘til spring arrives; winter will disappear;
Flowers will bloom from the warmth of the sun
And bring us lots of cheer,
So move on with our change of pace;
There are many more changes to embrace!
Just as the world keeps turning,
So do all the seasons.
Accept each one as they appear,
For each one has a reason.
If you don’t like the current one,
And find it hard to face,
Don’t worry yourself about it,
For it soon will be replaced.
