STUDENT OF THE WEEK

Q. Who are the members of your family: parents, siblings and pets?

A. My mom and dad, my brother, our two dogs and our cat.

Q. What do you most enjoy about being a senior at Emmaus High School?

A. Being able to spend one more year with the friends I’ve grown up with before I start the next exciting chapter of my life.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. History, because I find it very interesting to see how society evolved to become the way it is today.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. National Merit Scholarship Program – Letter of Commendation for outstanding performance on SAT Qualifying Test in 2018, College Board – AP Scholar, 2018 High School National Academic Squad All-State Field Hockey Team, Scholar of Distinction, President’s Honor Roll 2016-present, EHS 2017-2018 Passion for Science Award given by the principal, EHS 2017-2018 Passion for History Award given by the principal, National Honor Society Member and Peer Tutor, National Spanish Honor Society Member and Principal’s Honor Award for Seniors for Outstanding Academic Achievement.

Q. What are your favorite extracurricular activities?

A. Playing guitar, painting, sketching, running track and volunteering at the Wildlands Conservancy.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. To get into a college where I can excel and where I will be challenged to learn about many subjects in the hopes of using those skills to help solve problems as an adult and make a positive impact in the world.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. Balancing my academic, sports and extracurricular and volunteer activities, while ensuring a high level of success in each, navigating the inevitable setbacks and disappointments in life by learning from those difficult experiences while maintaining a positive outlook and allowing those experiences to shape me by making me stronger and more resilient.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. For my work ethic and determination as well as for being a reliable, caring friend.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. My parents for always persevering through difficulty and for teaching me to do the same.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. Find what makes you happy and stick with it - things will work out in the end.
