Coplay: Train display opens Dec. 19

Don’t miss the holiday model railroad display, featuring nine trains on two operating HO-scale modular layouts, built by Explorer Scouts of Model Railroad Explorer Post 101. The display will run 7-9 p.m. Thursdays and noon-4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays from Dec. 19 to Jan. 5, 2020, in room 201 at borough hall, 98 S. Fourth St.

Admission is free, but donations are welcome.

Coplay Community Days will host an old-fashioned Christmas event 2-6 p.m. Dec. 21 at Coplay Community Plaza, Chestnut and North Second streets. Santa will be there 2-4 p.m. for photos. There will also be hot chocolate, doughnuts and other holiday snacks, compliments of Commitment to Family and Community and LuLu’s Kitchen.

Children ages 12 and under who are accompanied by an adult can eat lunch for free from the children’s menu 2-4 p.m., compliments of Bill and Michele Loy of Samuel Owen’s Restaurant & Bar.

A Pair of Aardvarks will entertain 4:15-6 p.m. There will be 55-gallon drums to create a bonfire atmosphere.

Bernie and Joe Kochan are joined by their grandchildren Kehley and Maxwil Kochan and niece Jessica Overholt, all of Northampton, for the pork and sauerkraut dinner Oct. 12 at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, Coplay.PRESS PHOTOS BY AL RECKER
