EASTERN SALISBURY COLUMN
We’ve reached that part of year where the holidays are in full force, and the schools are busy wrapping things up before the winter break. I don’t know about you, but my kids are counting down the days for that nice long school break this year.
Salisbury Middle School will hold its winter concert 7 p.m. Dec. 12. This is always a great performance put on by talented students.
Dec. 19 will be the last Harry S Truman Elementary School Falcon Proud T-shirt day for 2019. Let’s see how many students can wear their shirts.
Dec. 19 will also be the day HST holds its winter celebration parties. If you have a child at HST, look for information to be sent home soon regarding this. Also remember if you are choosing to send in snacks, they must be chosen from the approved foods list to keep all of our children safe.
Dec. 20 will be the last school day for 2019. Salisbury High School and SMS will dismiss 12:15 p.m. HST and Western Salisbury Elementary School will dismiss 1 p.m. If there are any changes to dismissal for those at the elementary level, notify the respective schools of those changes as soon as possible.
All Salisbury Township schools will be closed Dec. 23 through Jan. 3, 2020. Schools will re-open Jan. 6, 2020 for all students.
Members of the Eastern Salisbury Fire Department will escort Santa around the eastern part of the township Dec. 21 beginning 8 a.m. Please listen for sirens and know he is coming! If you are driving through residential streets that day, please be extra cautious as there will be children and dogs running to greet the Jolly Old Man.
Just a friendly reminder that students, senior citizens and veterans are all admitted free to all home games for Salisbury athletics. Hope to see you at an event.
The Franko Farm Yard Waste drop-off will be open 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. Dec. 14.
I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and get to enjoy some family time, be it with family or the friends who have become family.
