Barbara B. Caldwell, Central Moravian Church member

Barbara B. Caldwell, 76, of Hanover Township, died November 22, 2019. Born in Puerta Cabezas, Nicaragua, she was a daughter of the late Neil and Marie (Hodgson) Brautigam. She was the wife of the late Rev. Dr. Douglas W. Caldwell.

She was a graduate of Colegio Moravo, Bluefields, Nicaragua; and of the class of 1965 of Moravian College. She was a 1989 graduate of Leadership Lehigh Valley.

She was an administrative assistant for the City of Bethlehem under mayors Marcincin, Mowrer and Smith. She was the Director of Community Relations at Lehigh University for six years until she retired.

She was a member of Central Moravian Church.

She was a co-founder to and a contributor of Musikfest and the Banana Factory. She was a founding board member at Moravian Village and was a president of the Board for Common Ground. She was a member of the Cohen Arts and Lectures committee for Lehigh University and Moravian College. She was the recipient of the 1998 Bethlehem Area Chamber of Commerce Athena award.

She is survived by a daughter, K. Ashley Caldwell of Bethlehem, a son, Douglas W. Jr. and his wife Quinn of Redwood, California; two granddaughters, Evan Rachel and Farrah Elizabeth; her stepmother,Olga Brautigam Kittle of Bluefields, Nicaragua; and seven siblings, Rochelle Ingram and her husband Edgar, Neil Brautigam and Steve Brautigam and his wife Olimpia, all of Florida; Craig Brautigam and his wife Karen, Melanie Siu and her husband Virgilio and Mark Brautigam and his wife Sarah, all of Las Vegas, Nevada; and Kurt Brautigam and his wife Dolene of Bluefields, Nicaragua, and their families.

She was predeceased by a brother, Kevin Brautigam.
