Roland Paul Grieshammer

Roland Paul Grieshammer, 91, of Hanover Township, died Nov. 2, 2019, in his home. He was the husband of Ruthann (Plata) Grieshammer and the late Frances (Kennedy) Grieshammer.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was a son of the late Albert and Freda (VandeGess) Grieshammer.

He was in the U.S. Navy.

He graduated from Bellport High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in physics at Hofstra University and a master’s degree in physics at Aldelphi University.

He was as a technical specialist in the advanced systems department at Northrup Grumman of Long Island until he retired in 1993. He worked earlier with Naval Air on the development and production of a bomb director system for the atomic bomb.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a stepdaughter, Jill (Meixner) Prandstatter and her husband Keith; two granddaughters, Anna and Lily; nieces; nephews; great-nieces; great-nephews; great-great-nieces; and great-great-nephews.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Frances Larsen and Edith DeLatush; and a brother, Arthur.
