In the spirit of giving, a healthy competition has begun at Salisbury High School. The school counseling office and student government advisory are hosting the annual food drive to support the Allentown Ecumenical Food Bank, but this year there is a twist.

In the main lobby, there are five donation bins, one for each grade and the staff. Each grade is represented by a faculty member; ninth grade is being represented by Mr. Hahn, 10th grade by Mr. Snyder, 11th grade by Mr. Koba, 12th grade by Mr. Barna and the faculty by Mr. Muschlitz.

Whoever’s basket has the most canned goods by Nov. 8 will wear the Falcon suit Nov. 27. Students and staff can donate to their respective classes or they can donate to the faculty member that they want to see wear the falcon suit.

Salisbury’s National Honor Society will hold a blood drive noon to 7 p.m. Nov. 11. SHS students and faculty are encouraged to donate at any time. The blood drive will open to the entire community 2:45 p.m. Members of NHS will provide childcare. To schedule your appointment, visit www.GIVEaPINT.org and use the sponsor code #0490.

Oct. 30 marked the end of the first quarter. Report cards will be posted on the Sapphire Portal.

Red Ribbon Week is being held SHS. There are different activities set up for the week, starting with door decorating. Students will choose a teacher to decorate their door. All doors will be finished by Nov. 7. The winner will be chosen by the STARs officers Nov. 8 and there will be a prize for those involved in decorating the door.

There’s also dress-up themes for the week. Today is Neon- Shine Brighter without Drugs, Thursday is Black - Black out Drugs and Friday is Red - Pledge to be Drug Free Wear Red. Please remember to dress appropriately and have fun.

Students will enjoy additional activities such as Kahoot, photo booth and yearbooth photo op. All students must have a pass before first block on the given day of the activity. First come first serve; there are a limited amount of passes.

ImPACT testing is being held 5:30 p.m. Nov. 6 and 3 p.m. Nov. 7. All winter athletes need an ImPACT test to play a sport. Students interested should sign up using the google form sent by Ms. Monica Deeb.
