Church holds luncheon

Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, 604 Fourth St., held its end-of-the-month community luncheon Sept. 28.

During the meal, Pastor Brian Reidy announced a list of things planned by the church.

One of the plans was participating in the Halloween parade Oct. 23. The church had a float and tossed gloves, he said. But the fun did not stop there - they also collected coats in a truck that followed the float.

“The coats don’t need to be new, but they should be serviceable,” Diane Czar said at the Sept. 28 luncheon.

Czar headed up the coat drive.

Coats collected will be given to the school district, to be distributed to children in need.

The church holds these community meals 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. the last Saturday of every month.
