EAST ALLEN TOWNSHIP BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

In East Allen Township, four candidates are seeking two seats on the board of supervisors for six-year terms.

They are Daniel Richardson, Bruce E. Millheim Jr., Christopher Cruz and Mark H. Schwartz.

We asked the candidates the following question:

What qualities do you believe voters are looking for in a township supervisor?

Their responses follow.

Democrat

Bruce E. Millheim Jr.

The qualities I believe voters are looking for in a township supervisor are reliability, dependability and accountability. I believe a supervisor should be someone who is local and lives in this area. I have lived in this area my entire life and have raised a family here. I want to help this township grow and be successful. Political party affiliation is meaningless to me at this level of government. The people and the township are most important. If given the opportunity, my number one goal would be to be a proactive supervisor who is reliable in getting the job done.

Republican

Mark H. Schwartz

To keep East Allen Township rural as the residents wish and not develop into a warehouse township as other townships have.

Make sure to maintain the township so that the budget is balanced and keeping spending to what is necessary to keep the township up to date.

Republican

Christopher Cruz

The voters are looking for someone who has the ability to work constructively with their fellow board members and residents. Someone that will listen to residents’ complaints, ideas and suggestions. Someone that will represent the township’s communal interests. I have demonstrated that working with the zoning board for the past two years. They are looking for someone who can work well under pressure while still being innovative and forward thinking. As a public servant for the last 34 years, I have experience with relating to the community in various situations that often called for quick thinking and creative problem solving.

Democrat/Libertarian Richardson did not respond.
