CL coaches to pick boys all-league team

Recently, the 13 boys basketball coaches of the Colonial League announced the formation of the Colonial League Boys Basketball Coaches Association.

The main purpose of the newly-formed Association is to select an annual Boys Basketball All-Colonial League team at the end of each season.

“The decision to form this Association will help ensure our league’s best players are able to receive recognition for their on-court accomplishments,” said Ken Termini, head boys basketball coach at Palmerton Area High School, and the spokesperson for the new group.

The Colonial League consists of 13 member schools, all of which field teams in boys basketball. Over 600 boys in grades 7-12 play basketball at Colonial League member schools.

Recently, the Colonial League voted to discontinue selecting all-league teams. The Colonial League boys basketball coaches unanimously agreed it was important to recognize the league’s best players and decided to take on the task.

“Our Association spoke with Colonial League President Bryan Geist of our intentions earlier and he was supportive of our efforts and we appreciate that,” said Termini.

Details on the selection for the respective all-league honors and announcement process are under development.
