To the Editor:
Election Day, Nov. 5, is a watershed moment for the residents of South Whitehall Township.
We will elect three commissioners to the board of five in a year when the township comprehensive plan, mapping the growth plan for the next decade, will be reworked.
The last three years have brought us the massive Ridge Farm, acres of warehouses and nearly 1,000 apartments.
Do we want more of the same or do we want moderate growth, preservation of open space and protection of our community character?
If so, Mike Wolk is the candidate we need on the board of commissioners.
While other candidates have only recently become advocates for moderate growth in response to interview questions, Mike Wolk is the only candidate who has actually stood up at the various board of commissioner, planning commission, zoning hearing board, developer and PennDOT meetings to plead the case of concerned citizens about traffic, public safety and the need to adhere to township ordinances and codes.
If elected, Mike Wolk will work toward updating the new comprehensive plan and zoning ordinances to reduce massive development and restore growth to a level which is acceptable to you - the residents of South Whitehall Township.
