Weisenberg Elementary PTO hosted Popsicles on the Playground Sept. 12 for the students.
The PTO sponsors this annual event at the beginning of the school year to get families and kids together.
Popsicles is held the same date as the PTO’s annual blood drive.
“They love seeing all the new faces join in on the fun,” said Angela Schmoyer, PTO volunteer.
Although this year it was a bit rainy, the spritz didn’t deter parents or students from attending.
“This was our largest turnout yet,” she stated. “There were monkey bar competitions and slide races in the rain. That sure made the students laugh.”
Parents were encouraged to give blood at the Miller-Keystone Bloodmobile in the parking lot, while the kids enjoyed themselves and made friends.
