Northwestern Lehigh School Board directors meet in the district board room 7 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month. The next meeting will be Oct. 16.

There will be no school on Oct. 14 for a teacher in-service day. High school and middle school picture retake day is scheduled for Oct. 17.

High School

High school PSAT tests will be given 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 16.

Middle School

The middle school PTO meeting, scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 11, will finish before the end of the scheduled half-day.

Northwestern Elementary

Northwestern Elementary will host a family fun and author visit 5:45-7:45 p.m. Oct. 10 in the gymnasium. Author Erika Liodice and her racing pigeons will visit 5:45 p.m. She wrote “Rookie of the Year” and “Pigeon Poacher Strikes Again!” More information is available at teamhighflyers.com/erika-liodice.

Kindergarten will be taking a pumpkin hunting field trip on Oct. 15. Rain date is Oct. 18.

Weisenberg Elementary

Weisenberg Elementary will have a Fire Safety Day for kindergartners through second-graders on Oct. 18.

Children’s book author and speaker Candace Fleming will visit the school on Oct. 16. Fleming is the author of such books as “Eleanor Roosevelt is in My Garage” and Ben Franklin’s in My Bathroom.”
