WESTERN SALISBURY COLUMN

Western Salisbury Elementary School PTA will host a Scholastic book fair Oct. 15-18. During the week, students will have a chance to visit the fair and make purchases with their classroom. Parents are invited to the book bingo 6-8 p.m. Oct. 18. Food and beverages will be available to purchase.

Salisbury schools are closed Oct. 14 for a teacher professional development day.

There is an early dismissal Oct. 18. Salisbury High School and Salisbury Middle School dismiss 12:15 p.m. while Harry S Truman Elementary School and WSE dismiss 1 p.m.

Picture retake days are scheduled Oct. 21 at SMS and Oct. 22 at WSE. Make sure to return your original packet of pictures the day of retakes.

The first Coffee and Conversation with school administrators will be held 8:15-9 a.m. Oct. 22 at SHS.

The Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church community breakfast will be held 8 to 11 a.m. Oct. 12. This month’s breakfast will be a celebration of autumn. In addition to the regular menu of eggs, bacon, sausage, French toast, toast, English muffins, hash browns, coffee, tea and juice, there will be sausage apple breakfast strata, sweet potato oatmeal bake, apple cake with maple buttercream and pumpkin cream cheese swirl muffins. A donation is suggested. All proceeds benefit the CROP Walk.

The Devonshire Drop-off will be open Oct. 15 and 19. Hours of operation for Salisbury residents are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday and Saturday of the month.
