LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

EASTERN SALISBURY COLUMN

The fifth annual Salisbury High School Homecoming parade will begin 5:30 p.m. Oct. 4 traveling Gaskill Avenue at Harry S Truman Elementary School to Tweed Avenue to Montgomery Street and end at the Salisbury High School parking lot. Come on out to show your Falcon Pride and be sure to join the fun at the Homecoming game, starting 7 p.m. against the Northern Lehigh Bulldogs.

The annual Homecoming dance will be held at SHS 7 p.m. Oct. 5. Information should have been given to the high school students regarding tickets.

HST will hold a volunteer clearance night 5-7 p.m. Oct. 7. This is time set aside by the PTO to assist parents and guardians with the process of completing the required clearances to participate in any school functions. There are several clearances required to keep our children safe.

The next HST PTO meeting will be held 7-9 p.m. Oct. 7. Childcare is provided by the SHS key club.

Do you have extra musical instruments laying around at home? STSD is always accepting musical instrument donations and you can give a child the gift of music. Accepted instruments include flutes, clarinets, saxophones, trumpets and other horns and percussion instruments. The school may also be able to take your string instruments, as well as guitars. Unfortunately pianos are not accepted at this time. For more information, contact Rachel Reinecke at rreinecke@salisburysd.org.

Looking forward, there will be no school for any Salisbury Township students Oct. 14 for a professional development day. Classes will resume as normal Oct. 15. There will also be an early dismissal Oct. 18 with SHS and Salisbury Middle School dismissing 12:15 p.m. and HST and Western Salisbury Elementary School dismissing 1 p.m.

The Franko Farm yard waste dropoff site will be open 8 a.m to 1 p.m. Oct. 8 and 12.
