Charles R. Chestnutt, Bethlehem Steel fireman

Charles R. Chestnutt, 85, of Bethlehem, died August 12, 2019. Born in Macon, Georgia, he was a son of the late William L. and Montine (Donaldson) Chestnutt. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth (Brown) Chestnutt and the late Priscilla (Miller) Chestnutt.

He was a fireman for many years at Bethlehem Steel and worked at Wedgewood Golf Course for over 20 years until he retired.

He was of the Moravian Faith.

He is survived by a son, Charles R. Chestnutt Jr. and his companion Mia of Florida; a daughter, Gail Sanderson of Bethlehem; a stepdaughter, Christine Deiter of Slatington; a stepson, James Pavelco and his wife Patricia of New Tripoli; two brothers, William Chestnutt of North Carolina and Jerry Chestnutt of Florida; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Karen Horwath.

Arrangements were made by James Funeral Home Inc., Bethlehem.
