Roger Seremula
Roger Seremula, 82, of Northampton, died Sept. 17, 2019, at St. Luke’s Hospital-Fountain Hill. He was the husband of Karen (Kochenash) Seremula for 50 years.
Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late John Sr. and Pauline (Antoniuk) Seremula, and a stepson of Anna (Kereb) Seremula.
He was a 1955 graduate of Northampton High School. He attended Pennsylvania State University.
He worked at Miller’s Department Store. He then sold real estate for Franklin Graver Realtors for more than 25 years. He worked part time at local liquor stores during holiday seasons. For the past nine years, he worked at the Northampton Recreation Center.
He was a member of Assumption of the Virgin Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Church. He sang in the church choir and was the choir director for many years. He was ordained as a reader and given the name Evhan. He was on the parish council as treasurer and helped make pierogies.
He was a past president of Northampton Exchange Club and the Friendly Fifties. He sang in various churches throughout Europe in 1959 as a member and president of Penn State’s Chapel Choir.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Beth of Collegeville; a son, Mark; a daughter-in-law, Shannon (Holubowski); a granddaughter, Jordyn; three brothers, John Jr. with Nataliya of Nazareth, Walter of Northampton and Joseph Sr. with Diane of Slatington; six nieces and nephews, Courtney with Kyle Follweiler, Joseph Jr., Michael, Anastasia, Tatiana and Katerina; a great-niece, Kylie; and a great-nephew, Jase.
