Gerald S. Schirmacher, 77, of Whitehall, died Sept. 13, 2019, at St. Luke’s Hospice, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Doris J. (Hilbert) Schirmacher for 17 years.

Born in Hokendauqua, he was a son of the late Francis and Florence (Lorah) Schirmacher.

He was a mechanic for the Pennsylvania State Police.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Gerald of Hokendauqua; a granddaughter, Crystal; a brother, William and his wife Margie of Hokendauqua; two sisters, Nancy and her husband Andrew Krashluk and Marie, all of Allentown; a cousin, Dutt and his wife Sheila of Catasauqua; and a nephew, William Jr. of Hokendauqua.

There will be a viewing 10-11 a.m., followed by a funeral service 11 a.m., Sept. 19 at the funeral home., 327 Chestnut St., Coplay, 18037.
