Guadalupe “Lupe” Ocampo, 92, of Bethlehem, died at her residence Aug. 27, 2019. Born in Ameca Jalisco, Mexico, she was a daughter of the late Wenceslao Sanchez Ruiz and Catalina (Alvarez) Ruiz. She was the wife of the late Eliseo “Leo” Ocampo for 70 years. She was proud to be a citizen of the United States.
She was a seamstress and was a sewing machine operator for local factories in the Lehigh Valley for over 27 years until she retired in 1978.
She was a parishioner of Holy Infancy Catholic Church.
She was a member of the ILGWU.
She is survived by six children, Maria Delgrosso and her husband Jim, and Grace Ocampo, all of Bethlehem; Joseph J. and his wife Terry Ocampo of Ann Arbor, Michigan; Leo and his wife Kathy Ocampo of Easton, Deacon José “Tony” Ocampo of Bethlehem; and Laura P. Wisser and her husband Scott of Allentown; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a brother, Efren Ruiz; and a sister, Catalina Uribe.
