Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year.

Just a reminder; all township schools will be closed Aug. 30 and Sept. 2 for the Labor Day holiday.

To start the year Salisbury Middle School will have an open house night 6:45-8:30 p.m. Sept. 5 and picture day Sept. 9.

Western Salisbury Elementary School will have picture day Sept. 10.

There is an operations committee meeting 7 p.m. Sept. 10 at the administration building.

Did you get a chance to try Food Truck Thursday’s at the South Mall on Lehigh Street this summer? If not, you need to hurry because the last one scheduled is Sept. 26. Also at the South Mall, a cruise night to benefit the Dream Come True organization will be held 5-8 p.m. Aug. 31. A donation is requested to show your vehicle and spectators are free.

The Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church community breakfast will return 8 to 11 a.m. Sept. 14. The menu includes eggs, bacon, sausage, French toast, toast, English muffins, hash browns, coffee, tea and juice. A donation is suggested. All proceeds benefit the food packaging ministry.

Salisbury Township is looking to fill a vacancy on the board of commissioners. If you live in Ward 1 of Salisbury Township and would like to be considered for the position of commissioner, submit an application and resume to Township Manager Cathy Bonaskiewich, 2900 S. Pike Ave., Allentown, 18103 by Sept. 13.

The Devonshire yard waste drop-off will be open Aug. 31, Sept. 3 and 7. Hours of operation for Salisbury residents are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday and Saturday of the month.
