Parkland graduates earn honors at Fairleigh Dickinson
Brooke Sherwin and Michael Warg, 2015 Parkland alumni, graduated cum laude from Fairleigh Dickinson University on May 21 at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.
The ceremony recognized more than 2,000 graduates from both FDU’s New Jersey campuses.
Sherwin and Warg attended Parkland together starting in kindergarten at Ironton Elementary, then onto Orefield Middle School and finally finishing at Parkland High School in 2015.
They continued their college studies along with their athletic careers at FDU.
Sherwin played women’s field hockey for four years and added women’s golf for three years.
While Warg continued playing men’s lacrosse for four years.
Both received recognition at FDU for their accomplishments on the athletic field.
Sherwin made Second Team All-MAC Freedom Conference team for field hockey and helped her team win the 2018 MAC Freedom Championship in her senior year.
Warg amassed 73 points on the lacrosse field and was named team captain in his senior year.
Sherwin, from Coplay, is the daughter of Valerie and David Sherwin and has a sister Morgan.
She was a mathematics major with a concentration in actuarial science and a dean’s list student while at FDU.
Sherwin has accepted a position with The Equinox Agency in Emmaus as an underwriting and financial analyst.
Warg, from Laurys Station, is the son of Karen and Bill Warg and has a brother Jonathan.
He majored in business administration with a concentration in finance and was a dean’s list student at FDU, as well.
Warg has accepted a position with Barkley Financial in Whippany, N.J., in a two-year rotational program as an operations analyst.
