Upper Milford Township Supervisors will hold a meeting with the two local fire departments, the borough of Emmaus and representatives of Kay Builders to discuss a problem with the water pump in a temporary construction building owned by Kay.
A representative of the Vera Cruz Fire Department told supervisors at the Aug. 15 meeting that when the fire department was doing a practice drill at the building, near the Fields at Jasper Ridge development, the pump didn’t stay running.
“When the pump doesn’t stay running to sustain a flow, you’re putting our people’s lives on the line,” he said.
Township Manager Bud Carter said he was told by Kay Builders that “everything that was an issue has been corrected.”
“We’re going to have a meeting,” to discuss the issue, supervisors vice chairman Joyce Moore said.
In other business at the brief meeting, supervisors approved the Light the Night Safe Zones Block Party, to be held 4-6 p.m. Oct. 27 at the township building. It will not interfere with Trick or Treat Night, which is scheduled Oct. 31, they said.
Supervisors also held a half-hour executive session prior to the meeting to discuss legal issues.
