Hope everyone is enjoying their summer and getting prepared because it’s almost time for the 2019-20 school year to begin! Students’ first day is Aug. 26.

Please keep in mind Sheckler Elementary School’s doors open 8:45 a.m., and the school day begins 8:55 a.m. for students.

Student dismissal is 3 p.m. for walkers. Bus students are dismissed 3:10 p.m.

Have you and your family been collecting those Box Tops over the summer to help Sheckler Elementary turn trash into cash for our school? Box Tops can be sent in with your child and given to his or her teacher for the fall submission around October.

After fall submission, Sheckler will no longer accept cutout Box Tops. There is a new way being used to collect those Box Tops - to put the Box Tops app on your phone, follow the directions and be sure to designate Sheckler as your school when installing the app. Then all you will need to do is scan your shopping receipts and continue to turn trash into cash for your school.

Schools will be closed Aug. 30 and Sept. 2 in observance of the Labor Day holiday. Regular scheduled classes will resume Sept. 3.

There will be no breakfast served the first week of school. Breakfast will begin 8:30 a.m. Sept. 3.
