Meet the teacher nights are coming up.

• Sixth grade, 6-8 p.m. Aug. 22, at Whitehall-Coplay Middle School. The evening is a great opportunity for parents to become familiar with their child’s upcoming school year, meet with their teachers and learn the expectations for the school year.

• Steckel Elementary School, 6-8 p.m. Aug. 22, at the elementary school. Parents will have an opportunity to tour the school and meet their child’s teachers.

New student orientation for Steckel Elementary will be 10-11 a.m. Aug. 23. Plan to attend if you are new to the building.

Whitehall High School’s new student/freshman orientation will be 1-2 p.m. Aug. 23. Students are encouraged to come to the auditorium for a brief overview of what WHS has to offer, a student-guided tour and an opportunity to familiarize yourself with the building.

There are more than 40 extracurricular clubs and activities, 18 varsity sports and a dynamic and dedicated staff.

There will be no school Aug. 30 and Sept. 2 for the Labor Day holiday.
