Ronald W. Lokay
Ronald W. Lokay, 77, of Northampton, died Aug. 7, 2019, at ManorCare, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Patti (Miko) Lokay for 56 years.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late William and Susan A. (Nederostek) Lokay.
He was an airman second class in the U.S. Air Force Security Services - the Silent Warriors.
He was a computer operator at Mack Trucks, from which he retired after 33 years, and where he was a union steward. He then worked part-time for H&R Block. He was a videographer and operated Ron Lokay Productions.
He was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Northampton.
He was a member of the Northampton Police Specials Unit and of the Northampton Fire Police. He was a volunteer fireman. He was a member of the Blue Nights International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club and of both the Catasauqua and Bethlehem boating clubs. He won local and national prizes for his custom-built Honda Goldwing motorcycle.
He was the founder and director of the Rediscover Northampton Fall Classic Car Show, which benefited both the fire department and fire police. He ran several car photo shoots in front of the Roxy Theatre. His 1955 Ford Fairlane Sunliner convertible, “Pretty Lady,” was featured as a 2017 Ford Times national magazine cover story. His Christmas displays won many awards and were featured on local Christmas lights tours.
He is survived by three children, Josette Horwath, Lisa and her husband Larry Biggs and Ronald Jr.; three grandchildren, Nathan, Marissa and Morgan; and a brother, Barry and his wife Marilyn.
He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Ronald Horwath Jr.
