Dorothy I. Tanczos, 94, of Bethlehem, died at Galilee House, Moravian Hall Square, after a brief illness. Born at the Chubbsville House, Point Phillips, she was a daughter of the late Quilles and Hannah (Remaly) Silfies. She was the wife of the late Edward L. Tanczos.
She attended a one room schoolhouse in Point Phillips and in 1943 graduated from Nazareth High School.
She worked at the Bath Post Office; and in the offices of Vultee Aircraft, Mack Trucks, and the Mason-Dixon trucking company, all in Allentown.
In 1960 she and her late husband opened Tanczos Beverages, Bethlehem.
She was a founding member of the Notre Dame of Bethlehem Church and parish. She and her late husband took in young women with crisis pregnancies.
She is survived by three sons: Mark and his wife Donna of Bethlehem, Daniel and his wife Mimi of Danielsville and David and his wife Laura of Pittsburgh; and eight grandchildren, Zachary, Kyle, Matthew, Erik, Hannah, Rachel, Matthew and Madison.
She was predeceased by a son, Michael; and three siblings, Russell Silfies, Stella Strunk and an infant brother.
