Richard P. Dorney

Richard P. Dorney, 88, of Center Valley, died July 28, 2019, in Lehigh Valley Hospital’s inpatient hospice unit, Allentown. He was the husband of Eunice M. (McKee) Dorney for 48 years.

Born in Cetronia, he was a son of the late Warren P. and Mabel (Stauffer) Dorney.

He served in the U.S. Army National Guard. In August 1950, he was ordered into active duty and was deployed to Korea. He achieved the rank of Sgt. 1st Class and was awarded the Korean Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal for his service.

The family business, Dorney Printing, was started by his father. The business grew and merged with Day-Timer. He retired in 1995 as the director of manufacturing.

He was a former member of St. Matthew’s Evangelical Congregational Church, Emmaus, where he was very active. He then became a member of Bethel Bible Fellowship Church, Emmaus.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Kerry A. and his wife Robin of Whitehall and Richard P. and his wife Shelia of Schnecksville; two stepsons, Thomas E. Foulds Jr. and his wife Sandra of Macungie and Timothy I. Foulds of Allentown; a brother, William and his wife Bernie of Emmaus; three sisters, Betty Grey of Allentown, Jean and her husband Allen Walk of East Texas and Nancy Steltz of Macungie; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
