YWCA Bethlehem’s annual meeting

YWCA Bethlehem’s 92nd Anniversary Celebration will be held at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 15 at the Saucon Valley Country Club. Stephanie Hnatiw, executive director of YWCA Bethlehem, welcomes new friends to attend the event.

“As we begin our 92nd year of service to the Bethlehem community, the annual meeting is a perfect opportunity to learn about our program and services, and meet the staff and board members who make it possible.”

YWCA Bethlehem offers girl empowerment programs, women’s health workshops, diversity education, and senior daycare services.

The luncheon celebrates the YWCA’s accomplishments, recognizes recipients of Community Awards and features a keynote speaker. YWCA Board member and owner of AM Luxe Ann Marie Supinksi will be honored as Volunteer of the Year. Ava Sweeney will receive the Youth Leadership Award for her volunteer service with the LPGA-USGA Girls Golf program. The YWCA’s Great Decisions Lecture Series Committee will be recognized with an Unparalleled Dedication Award. Bank of America will receive the Exceeding Expectations Award for its commitment to raise its minimum wage to $20 in the next two years. YWCA’s Residential Services Coordinator Stephanie Stover will receive a 10-Year Service Award.

The YWCA will also recognize the amazing work of staff member Doris who was recently featured on WFMZ as the “Unknown Angel.” She handcrafts wooden angels and delivers them anonymously to individuals experiencing loss or tragedy. Each angel bears the message “Never Lose Hope” as a reminder to stay positive during the most difficult of times.

The 2019 Keynote Speaker is Qiana Cressman, founder of “Emerge Woman Magazine” and owner of Emerge Enterprise Media LLC. Cressman uses her business savvy and philanthropic platform to inspire women and girls to manifest their highest potential. She is also an ordained minister and passionate non-profit professional at Miller-Keystone Blood Center. She’s been a leader in the blood banking industry for over 16 years, generating $18.4M in sales and marketing revenue and building significant strategic partnerships. Cressman is a national spokesperson for the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America Inc., an executive board member of the award-winning MTS Sickle Cell Foundation Inc., and a co-chair of the board of directors for the African American Business Leaders Council of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce.
