Kathleen Mary Gabriel, 75, of Macungie, died peacefully July 11, 2019. She was the wife of the late John Gabriel for 50 years. Born in Plainfield, N. J., she was the daughter of the late James Foster and Florence (King) Schmiede.

She graduated from Plainfield High School in 1962 and after earning her associate of science degree from Northampton County Community College, she received a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Cedar Crest College in 1992.

She was an accomplished and highly respected registered nurse for several health care facilities throughout the Lehigh Valley. She was most recently employed as a case manager for Easton Hospital, Easton.

She was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was loved for her kind disposition, compassion, good humor and strong work ethic. She was particularly proud of the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by children: Colleen and her husband, Mathew Doyle, of Sinking Spring; Victoria and her husband, Charles Beasley, of Baxter, Minn.; John and his wife, Grisselle, of Doylestown; Mark and his wife Leigh-Ann, of Alexandria, Va.; grandchildren: Meghan, Caroline, Nathan and Timothy Doyle; Aaron, Charles James, Benjamin Beasley; Claudia, Logan, Christian and James; sister, Margaret Norris, of Hillsborough, N.J.; niece, Jennifer Norris, of Millstone, N.J.

A calling time will be held 11 a.m. to noon July 22 with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated noon in Saint Thomas More Cathoic Church, 1040 Flexer Ave., Allentown. Arrangements entrusted to Kohut Funeral Home, Inc., Allentown.
