The Fourth of July weekend signals the anticipated Catasauqua pub crawl. Organizer Joni Elekes said the one-evening event, which was held July 6, is a top-rated attraction in Catasauqua Borough.
The event started as a highlight for social activities during the borough’s Home Week. The tradition continued, now in its sixth year.
This is a local event sponsored by local taverns.
Participating venues were Pie’s On Pizzeria, Front and Pine streets; American Legion Post 215, 330 Second St.; Fossil’s Last Stand, 429 Race St.; Taylor House Brewing Company, 76 Lehigh St.; Blue Monkey Sports Bar and Restaurant, 1094 Howertown Road; Catasauqua Club, 226 Pine St.; Tony’s Top Cat Bar and Grill, 607 Front St.; and Catty Corner Neighborhood Pub and Pie, 301 Mulberry St.
Biery’s Port Museum had an impromptu setup.
Some of the “crawlers” have been active since the first event.
“We have a new T-shirt for every crawl,” said Ashley Dowdy, who prowls with a group.
This year’s version of the shirt - “If found, return to a friend.”
Tony's Top Cat Bar and Grill, 607 Front St., is filled with guests enjoying a few refreshments during the Catasauqua pub crawl July 6.
