Gerald Yob, who served as Freemansburg’s mayor for 36 years and twice as a borough council member, has been honored by his neighbors and constituents. Borough council recently named its municipal park after him, where you’ll find him behind a hot grill at the annual National Night Out. Yob first got involved in government to clean out the rats. Not the two-legged kind, but honest-to-goodness rats that had infested his neighborhood. He has spent over a half century serving his borough.
The Gerald Yob Community Park honors a man who dedicated over 50 years to Freemansburg.
