The Rev. Alfredo E. Chavez Sr., 82, of Bethlehem, died July 2, 2019, in his home. Born in Huayaucito, Peru, he was the son of the late Gustavo and Lorenza (Escalante) Chavez. He was the husband of Dorcas (Ayling) Chavez for 52 years.

He was the Spanish minister of the Central Assembly of God Church, Bethlehem, for 28 years until he retired.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Alfredo E. Jr. and his wife Sandra of Bethlehem, Dario and his wife Rebekah of Allentown and Christian Chavez and his wife Shelli of Allentown; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Francisco and Arturo Chavez.
