Alfonso C. Abruzzi, 95, of Fellowship Villa, Whitehall, and formerly of Coplay, died June 17, 2019, at Lehigh Valley-Cedar Crest. He was the husband of the late Caroline B. (Sabatino) Abruzzi for 71 years.
He was a graduate of Pen Argyl High School.
He was an U.S. Army World War II veteran and earned a rank of T4. He saw combat with the 666 Engineer Company in Europe, including at Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge.
He was a driver - steward for the former Modern Transfer, Allentown, for 24 years.
A teamster for 44 years, he was a Teamsters Local 773 past president for 20 years, and served on a number of international committees.
He attended the Men of Malvern for 55 years.
He is survived by three children, David and his wife Wendy, Dennis and his wife Eileen, and Karen Lewis and her husband Glenn; 11 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Colleen.
