Resident volunteers descended on the Bethlehem Rose Garden June 1 to plant two gardens near a new entrance on the Eighth Avenue side of the park. Fran Cundall of Moravian College and Bethlehem Backyards for Wildlife tasked the shovel-bearing volunteers with his professional recommendations. The plants were generously donated by the West Side Neighborhood Association of the MANA (Mount Airy Neighborhood Association). Meanwhile, the Rose Garden Park held its first Rose Garden Farmers Market for 2019. Many came out during the sunny Saturday to purchase baked goods, beverages, local produce, plants, flowers, arts and crafts. The Calypso ES Band from Bethlehem also provided music for visiting guests.
The Calypso ES Band proudly plays to an enthusiastic audience.
