Shirley J. Lawall, 82, of Whitehall, died June 15, 2019, in her home. She was the wife of the late Peter Lawall for 55 years.

Born in West Catasauqua, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Mahala Kingcaid.

She graduated 10th in her class in 1954 from Whitehall High School.

She worked at PPL, Allentown, Salem United Church of Christ nursery school, Catasauqua, and Leh’s Department Store, Whitehall. She retired in 2008 from her position in accounts payable at Pipeline Petroleum.

She taught Sunday school at Salem UCC for more than 30 years. She was a secretary of both the West Catasauqua Playground Association and of the Whitehall Exchangettes Club. She was a Republican committeewoman.

She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Howertown.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Michelle and her husband John Schmidt, Marcie and her husband Dan Mulligan and Melissa and her fiance Tyrone Burton; and seven grandchildren, Peter and Michael Schmidt, Marissa Lawall and Ryan with Hilary, and Jessica, Liam and Aileigh Mulligan.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Harold and Raymond Kingcaid.

Services are at the convenience of the family.
