John M. Najpauer Sr., 91, of Northampton, died June 16, 2019, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Joan R. (Smith) Najpauer for 64 years.

Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late Michael and Julia (Farkas) Najpauer.

He was a Northampton Area High School graduate.

He was an airman apprentice (PRAA) in the U.S. Navy from 1948 until 1952.

He was a repairman for the former Atlas Portland Cement Company for 24 years before retiring in 1981.

He was a lifelong member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Northampton.

He was a member of the American Legion 353 and Lappawinzo Rod & Gun Club and was a life member of Alliance Fire Company.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Joanne P. and her husband Robert Santoroski of Northampton; a son, John M. Jr. and his wife Cheryl of Northampton; a sister, Mary Sisko of Cementon; five grandchildren, Todd and his wife Amy, Tara and her husband David, Nicole and her husband Kevin, Amanda and her husband Matthew and Emily Najpauer; seven great-grandchildren, Dorian, Abby, Harper, Juliette, Morgan, Aiden and Addison; nieces; and nephews.

He was predeceased by four brothers, Edward, William, Michael and Robert Najpauer; and a sister, Lucy Mikulcik.

There will be a viewing 9:30-11 a.m., followed by a funeral service 11 a.m., June 20 at the funeral home, 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton, 18067.
