LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

WESTERN SALISBURY COLUMN

The last week of school is here!

Which means it is time for some very important ceremonies to attend.

The Western Salisbury Elementary School kindergarten promotion ceremony will be held 1:30 p.m. June 11.

The WSE fifth grade promotion ceremony will be held 10 a.m. June 12.

The end of the year also means early dismissal.

Salisbury High School and Salisbury Middle School will dismiss 12:15 p.m. June 12 and 10:30 a.m. June 13.

Harry S Truman Elementary School and WSE will dismiss 1 p.m. June 12 and 11:15 a.m. June 13.

If you have a student at SHS, they most likely have to read a book over the summer. Don’t let them wait until the last minute. Get it over with early, but as my Luke would say, not so early they forget what happens before school starts.

A school board meeting will be held 7:30 p.m. June 12 in the administration building.

The Devonshire drop-off will be open June 10 and 13, 15 and 18. Hours of operation for Salisbury residents are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday and Saturday of the month. Evening hours have now begun 3-9 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays.

So what are your plans for the summer? The beach? The lake? Camping?

I have a few trips in mind but nothing set in stone, yet. It will be my first summer not working at BonTon, so I will have a little more time on my hands, but a little less money in my pocket, LOL. Whatever your plans, I’ll tell you what I tell my kids: Have fun, be safe and if you are barefoot, always put sunscreen on the tops of your feet. There is nothing worse than sunburned feet.
