Richard W. Smith, 96, of Bethlehem, died April 26, 2019, at Moravian Hall Square. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late William and Helen (Meyers) Smith. He was the husband of the late Marion (Horner) Smith for 50 years.
He was a drill sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a superintendent at Saucon Roll Shop and head roll designer for Bethlehem Steel Corp.
He was a member at St. Stephen’s Church, Bethlehem.
He is survived by a son, James R. of Bethlehem; two daughters, Sara “Sally” Sames of Bethlehem and Mary Urban of Rocky Point, North Carolina; a sister, Audrey Braden; eight grandchildren, Russell Urban, Marc and Angie Sames, Thomas Urban, Richard and Leanna Urban and James and Taylor Urban; and a great-granddaughter, Amelia Urban.
He was predeceased by a brother, Donald Smith; and a sister, Dolly Williams.
Arrangements were made by Cantelmi Long Funeral Home Inc., Bethlehem.
