Voters pick school board candidates for November

Six candidates - Jay Rohatgi, Carol L. Facchiano, Marisa Ziegler, David M. Kennedy, Patrick H. Foose and Lisa Roth - all sought a chance to sit in one of the five open seats for a four-year term on the Parkland School Board.

Each has cross-filed on the Democrat and Republican tickets.

Unofficial results, according to the Lehigh County Voter Registration Office, show David Kennedy coming in at the top of the Republican ticket with 2,028 votes, 19.74 percent of the total 10,271 votes cast.

Lisa Roth garnered an unofficial 1,885 votes, coming in second with 18.35 percent of the votes. Third on the Republican ticket, with an unofficial 1,779 votes was Carol Facchiano, who received 17.32 percent of the votes.

Fourth on the Republican side of the ballot was Patrick Foose with 1,730 unofficial votes, 16.84 percent of the total cast.

Marisa Ziegler took the fifth slot with an unofficial 1,587 votes, 15.45 percent of the Republican ballots cast.

On the Democrat side of the ticket, Marisa Ziegler garnered the top spot with an unofficial 2,204 votes, 21.67 percent of the total cast.

Next was Carol Facchiano with an unofficial 1,849 Democrat votes, 18.18 percent of the total 10,171 votes cast.

Garnering third place was Lisa Roth with 1,748 votes, 17.19 percent of the Democrat total.

Fourth place was taken by David Kennedy with an unofficial 1,507 votes, 14.82 percent of the votes. Taking fifth was Jay Rohatgi who garnered an unofficial 1,441 votes, 14.17 percent of the Democrat vote.

The top five will appear on the ballot in the Nov. 5 general election.
