William “Bill” J. Keeney, 82, of Northampton, died May 5, 2019. He was the husband of the late Helen M. (Marakovits) Keeney.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Owen Keeney and Kathryn L. (O’Brien) Keeney.

He was a 1949 graduate of Central Catholic High School and was the class coordinator for many years.

He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was a sales representative for 25 years with Prudential Life Insurance Company, Allentown, until he retired in 1992. He then ran the Keeney Group. He was a part-time assistant for Schisler Funeral Home Inc., Northampton.

He was a lifelong member of Queenship of Mary Catholic Church, Northampton, where he chaired events and was coordinator of the Apple Dances.

He was a life member and a past commander of the Catholic War Veterans Post 454, Northampton, where he also held other offices.

He is survived by a son, Joseph Sr. and his wife Ann of Easton; three daughters, Jane and her husband James Nemeth of Northampton, Eileen M. and her husband Gregory Wasson of Bethlehem and Mary Lisa and her husband Trevor Stone Sr. of Northampton; 14 grandchildren, Gina, Jonathan, Lauren, Brianna, Jared, Joseph Jr., Gabrielle, Marisa, Trevor Jr., Emily, Jessica, Joshua, Addison and Rachael; and four great-grandchildren, William, Jocelyn, Brynn and Reagan.

He was predeceased by two brothers, John and Eugene; and five sisters, Margaret Jacobs, Catherine Ford, Mary Rafferty, Anna Speaker and Helen Ferry.
