Edward Foster, a resident of Whitehall, has announced his candidacy for magisterial district judge in Whitehall for the May 21 primary election. He has cross-filed and will appear on both the Democratic and Republican tickets.
Foster is running for the position that was vacated with the 2017 death of Magisterial District Judge Robert Halal (Foster’s former constable), who served this district with honesty and integrity.
Foster has been certified by the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts to perform the duties of magisterial district judge and is ready to serve his community, he said.
He and his wife, Corinne, have been married for more than 18 years and have raised their children here. Their daughter, Blake, is a graduate of Whitehall High School and of Penn State University. Their son, Connor, is currently attending Whitehall High School.
A graduate of DeSales University, Foster is also a master plumber and holds a Class A CDL license. He has coached sports in Hokendauqua, Cementon and Coplay for many years and donated his time and resources to Cementon, Egypt and Coplay. He said he has a lifetime of demonstrating true independence in business and within the community.
“I am deeply committed to protecting the values we share as a community,” Foster said. “It would be a great honor and privilege to serve our area as your next magisterial district judge, and I believe I have strong moral principles and the knowledge needed to assume the responsibilities as district judge.”
