Coplay: Street sweeping dates are set
The borough’s street sweeping will take place May 9 and 10. All streets will be posted, giving residents advance notice. Vehicles left on the street can be subject to fines or towing.

The grass clippings and yard waste pickups will continue each Friday. Residents are reminded to bundle branches and put clippings in receptacles not to exceed 35 pounds.
The borough would also like to remind residents that plastic recyclable items cannot be put in plastic grocery bags for pickup.

The Stanley W. Reinhard Jr. American Legion Post 426 will have American flags placed on veterans’ graves at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church Cemetery, Coplay; St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Stiles; and the Coplay Cemetery for Memorial Day.

There are openings for summer positions at Coplay’s Parkway Pool. Applications are available at the municipal building, 98 S. Fourth St.
The public works department will also be hiring for part-time summer jobs, such as grass cutting and parkway pavilion cleaning.

The Coplay Senior Citizens group is organizing a trip to see “Joy to the World” at American Music Theater, Lancaster, 10:30 a.m. Dec. 11. Lunch will be 1 p.m. at Good ‘N Plenty Restaurant, Smoketown.
Pickups will start 7:15 a.m. at Weis Markets, 3644 MacArthur Road, Whitehall, and continue at the AHEPA building, 1810 Albert St., Allentown.
Cost includes the show, lunch, taxes, tip and driver gratuity. Deadline to purchase tickets is Nov. 6.
