CITY Summer programs, pools openings set

Adventure Camp

The City of Bethlehem will hold several school-age recreational programs in various locations this summer. The Recreation Department, in conjunction with DCNR and Wildlands Conservancy, will hold the 12th year of Adventure Camp for City of Bethlehem youth, ages 15 through 15. Activities include kayaking, rock climbing, hiking, biking, white water rafting and paddle boarding.

The program runs are from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., June 24-28. The drop off and pick up location is at the Sand Island Ice House, 56 River St. Space is limited.

Pools

The city will operate four pools during the summer, Clearview, West Side and Stark, which will open on June 8; and Yosko, which has a splashpark and opens on Memorial Day. All four pools will offer swimming lessons. Memorial Pool, which is undergoing a complete renovation, is closed this year.

Summer playground program

The annual free drop-in parks program, for ages seven through 12, is held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (hours may vary at different locations) from June 17 to August 2 at seven neighborhood parks. Activities include arts and crafts, sports, games, swimming, field trips and more. No registration is required. Hours may vary by location.
