WESTERN SALISBURY COLUMN

The Salisbury kindergarten through 12th grade art show is almost here. Come out to the high school 5-8 p.m. May 8 to peruse the artwork of our talented students. There will be live music and refreshments.

The Salisbury Athletic Booster Club is holding a clothing drive fundraiser. Drop off your bagged or boxed clothes between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at Salisbury Middle School April 27. They accept clothes, shoes, accessories, linens and small stuffed animals. Please do not bring kitchen items, electronics or toys.

SMS sixth to eighth grade students will be taking the math portion of the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment testing April 29 and 30.

Western Salisbury Elementary third through fifth graders will take the state tests April 30 and May 1. The science portion will be taken by the eighth grade students May 1 and 2 and the fourth graders May 2 and 3. Then they are done!

The Salisbury Baseball Booster Club car wash fundraiser was moved to noon to 3 p.m. April 28. Come out to Big Woody’s, 1841 S. 4th St., Allentown and support the club.

The Salisbury High School spring concert will be held 7 p.m. May 7 in the high school auditorium. This is always a great show.

A curriculum and technology meeting will be held at SMS 7 p.m. April 29. An operations committee meeting will be held 7 p.m. May 6 in the administration building.

There is a school board meeting scheduled 7:30 p.m. May 8 at the administration building.

The Devonshire drop-off will be open May 4, 7 and 9. Hours of operation for Salisbury residents are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday and Saturday of the month. Evening hours have now begun 3-9 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays.

Curbside branch collection will begin for Salisbury Township residents April 29 and run through May 3. Bundled and tied branches should be placed at the curb after 6 p.m. April 28. Branches must be no larger than 5 feet long and 5 inches in diameter. Open containers can be used for small sticks.
