Laurys Station Fire Company elects new officers for 2019

Laurys Station Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 recently held its 2019 Fire Company elections.

Charles Eckhart was elected president; Jared Farkas, vice president; Robin Hood, recording secretary; Marie Hood, financial secretary; Eric Minford, treasurer; Ian Noll, chaplain.

Chris Greb, Dale Remaley and Matt Gray were named trustees.

They also announced fire line officers as Robin Hood, chief; Kevin Remaley, first assistant chief; Chris Greb, second assistant chief; Matt Desch, captain; Logan Noll, lieutenant; and John Bull, fire police captain.

Staff positions are: Eric Minford, safety; Matt Desch, training; Ben Santee, and Logan Noll, truck engineers; and Marie Hood, photographer; and Jared Farkas and Zach Bath, quartermaster.

Firefighter Zach Bath was named 2018 Firefighter of the Year; and Chris Bath was chosen as 2018 Junior Firefighter.

Matt Desch received the Chief’s Award, and Kevin Remaley received the Spirit Award.

Fire company monthly business meetings are 8 p.m. on the second Wednesday of every month.

Fire team training is offered every Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. Volunteers are always needed, if interested, join them. Stop by any Monday evening or call 610-262-9261.
