Emmaus track earns split vs. Liberty

Emmaus and Liberty split an East Penn Conference dual meet last week.

The Hornet girls improved to 3-1 with a 92-58 win over the Hurricanes, while the Emmaus boys team, which fell to 3-1, lost 97.5-52.5 to the unbeaten Hurricanes.

Laurel Widdoss (long jump, triple jump) captured first place in two events in the girls meet, while teammates Alanna Smith (100), Kayla Smith (200), Kera Reinhard (1600), Isabella Lees (3200), Julia Rakowsky (high jump) and Morgan Belisle (pole vault) won one event each.

Emmaus won two of three girls relays. Halle Jannett, Alanna Smith Mackenzie Dries and Kayla Smith took first place in the 4x100 relay. The foursome of Dries, Kayla Smith, Ashleigh McNellis and Alanna Smith finished first in the 4x400 relay.

In the boys meet, Lubens Myers (100), Jacob Brown (1600) and Keyon Carrol-Herring (high jump) won individual events.

The Hornet boys also won two relays. Jakob Smolinsky, Paul Petre, Evan Witman and Mason Boyd teamed up to win the 4x400, while Petre Keshav Shankar, Geoffrey Kleinberg and Jacob Brown earned first place in the 4x800.
