EASTERN SALISBURY COLUMN

All Salisbury Township schools will be closed for spring break April 18 through 22. Schools will reopen April 23.

The Harry S Truman PTO will host a fundraising event at Queen City BBQ, 27 N. Seventh St., Allentown, 4-8 p.m. April 18.

Make sure you mention you are supporting the HST PTO and the school will receive a portion of your purchase as a donation. It’s also half-price wing night.

The next HST T-shirt day will be April 25. Don’t forget your green shirt.

The HST PTO will host a spring craft and vendor fair in the school cafeteria 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 27. There will also be food and baked goods available for purchase as well as a basket raffle and 50/50 raffle. There is a cost for admission to benefit the PTO.

The Salisbury Baseball Booster Club’s car wash has been moved to noon to 3 p.m. April 28 at Big Woody’s Sports Bar and Restaurant, 1841 S. Fourth St, Allentown. There is a cost per car.

Salisbury Athletic Booster Club is conducting a one-day clothing and more donation drive April 27 at Salisbury Middle School. Drop off bagged or boxed items at the school’s main entrance 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. April 27. Donors must be prompt because the collection truck will arrive between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. April 27. Organizers are accepting clothing, shoes and accessories for all seasons as long as they are in wearable and usable condition. Shoes must be bagged separately. Small soft stuffed animals also will be accepted.

Pennsylvania System of School Assessment testing will resume April 29 and 30 for grades three through eight for math. Please ensure students are well rested and have had a good breakfast to help them be as successful as they can be. May 1 will be testing day for grades four and eight in the area of science as well as any needed math make-ups.

The eighth annual Salisbury Football Golf Tournament will be held June 1. Registration will begin 7 a.m. with a shotgun start 8 a.m. The event will be held at the Allentown Municipal Golf Course, 3400 Tilghman St., Allentown. The Franko Farm Yard Waste Drop off site will be open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 23 and 27.
