Hokendauqua: St. John’s plans April 18 service
St. John’s United Church of Christ, Mickley’s, 2918 MacArthur Road, will have a Tenebrae service 7:30 p.m. April 18. The service will include a Disciples Communion.

Do you have a child playing baseball or softball at Hokendauqua Park this season? Join Hokendauqua Park and Playground Association for its 2019 opening day ceremonies April 27. The teams will be meeting at Hokendauqua Fire Company, Second Street, and they will be escorted to the park by firetrucks starting 7:30 p.m.
This year, the ceremonies will be held under the lights at the park.

Hosted by Whitehall Historical Preservation Society, walking tours of the historic village of Hokendauqua will take place April 27. There is a rain date of May 4.
The free hourlong tours will be given between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. and will start at First Presbyterian Church of Hokendauqua, 3005 S. Front St.

HPPA is hosting a designer purse bingo fundraiser, featuring Coach, Kate Spade, Michael Kors and Vera Bradley items, April 28 at Victor C. Talotta Park, Cementon. Doors open noon, and bingo begins 1 p.m.
There will also be specials, door prizes, a Chinese auction and food.

Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3355 Macarthur Road, will hold its spring craft fair 9 a.m.-3 p.m. May 4.
There will be more than 100 tables of crafts, quilted items and baked goods. You could be the lucky winner of a quilted wall hanging!
There will also be a Chinese auction and refreshments.
