FALCON INSIDER
Get Involved, Value Everyone, Salisbury High School’s newest club, focuses on giving back to the community. Club members are running an Easter basket drive this spring for New Bethany Ministries.
To accomplish their goal of filling 50 or more Easter baskets, they are asking for donations from the Salisbury community.
Organizers are asking for baskets, fake grass, candy, gift cards to Target or Walmart and small toys for ages 18 months to 17 years old. All donations are greatly appreciated and due at Salisbury High School by April 12.
STARS is also collecting items to create homeless care kits to support two shelters within our community. Club members are collecting donations, such as water bottles, granola bars, socks, gloves and hygiene products. All donations are due by April 12.
The SHS Baseball Booster Club will hold a car wash noon to 3 p.m. April 14 at Big Woody’s, 1841 S. Fourth St., Allentown. Come support the baseball team.
Mrs. Tripp is holding a CPR certification class for SHS students April 11. Students will be given the opportunity to take a free three hour course to learn how to administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Prom tickets are officially on sale. Seniors can now buy their tickets and juniors will be able to purchase their tickets beginning April 15. Tickets will not be sold after April 30. Students should check the email sent by Mrs. Wilson for more information.
Because it is prom season, the “Prom Boutique” is officially open. The “boutique” is stocked with new or gently used dresses and suits in a variety of different styles and sizes. If you are interested in visiting the “Prom Boutique,” email your guidance counselor, Mrs. Legath, Mrs. Williams or Ms. Morningstar to schedule an appointment. Requests will be kept completely confidential.
The 20th annual Frank Yelinko Memorial Golf Benefit will be held May 11. Frank Yelinko was a teacher and coach for 35 years in the Salisbury Township School District. To pay tribute to him, the Frank Yelinko Memorial Fund was created to provide a $1,000 scholarship (per year for up to four years) to one male and one female Salisbury athlete. The Frank Yelinko Memorial Golf Benefit helps support the scholarship fund. This year, the tournament will accept only 32 foursomes. Make sure to register before all of the slots are gone! For more information, visit Salisbury Township School District’s social media page.
Finally, spring break begins on April 18. Students will return to school April 23.
