Joseph D. Kudella, 93, of Bethlehem, died suddenly as a result of an aneurism on April 2, 2019, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Muhlenberg. Born in Coaldale and raised in Lansford, he was a son of the late Florian and Susan (Oslej) Kudella. He was the husband of Joan H. (Panker) Kudella for 49 years.
He was a Class of 1950 graduate of Moravian College where he played varsity football.
He was in the United States Navy during World War II and participated on D-Day.
He worked in sheet sales at Bethlehem Steel Corp. for many years until he retired.
He was a member of St. John’s Windish Lutheran Church, Bethlehem.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Danny and his wife Elaine of Coopersburg; a daughter, Sally Monek of Bethlehem; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Millie Godfrey of Batavia, Ill.; nieces; nephews; and two brothers-in-law, Richard and his wife Sandra Panker of Allentown and Robert Panker of Bethlehem.
He was predeceased by several brothers and sisters, including a brother, John, who was killed in action in World War II.
